Potential is a funny thing. With every passing year it diminishes. With every mistake it is depleted. Every human is born with potential, but none of us seem to ever reach our full potential. In fact it seems as if no matter how good we do, we always fall short of our potential....
Maybe, it's time we moved beyond potential. Maybe it's time we moved into a realm where potential doesn't even exist. Maybe it's time we explored the infinite God who IS love. God does not have the potential to love us. He is love. The very concept of potential only makes sense in a finite universe. There is a beginning point and an ending point. Everything in between is about the potential to reach the next point before you reach the end.
Potential is measurable. Infinite is not. God is love. This is not measurable, but it can be explored...forever. When we explore the nature of God through relationship we enter a world where our potential ceases to exist, and is instead replaced with an infinite number of possibilities to experience love. The older we get the deeper we can understand and experience his love. With every failure, and every misstep we lose no potential we only open doors of opportunity to explore another facet of God's infinite goodness.
